Get Set for 2009.                                                                    Get Set for...GUJARAT

In 2009 we will integrate India-ETC, the 1st Engineering & Technical Ceramics Expo, into the Indian Ceramics event at The Karnavati Club, Ahmedabad, Gujarat – taking place from 3-5 March.

This is an extremely important part of the industry within the context of India’s offering in ceramics and several of the groups active in the sector are significant international players with ambitious expansion plans (see some interesting snippets on our news site).

Engineering and technical ceramics technology will find its home in India-ETC and this is certainly a timely addition to the Indian Ceramics concept.  Including the manufacture of refractories and insulating ceramics, these are important products both for the State of Gujarat – with its proliferation of light and heavy industry as well as infrastructure and energy issues – and the ceramic and allied scene in general.

Recent good news for the this sector is the go-ahead being given for a new Foundry Cluster site close to Ahmedabad.  This is now likely to go either to Kathawada or Santej and will be home to around 70 companies in what has been a successful period for orders.  In total, there are around 400 foundries sited in and around Ahmedabad and the dynamism being demonstrated in this business is a very encouraging sign for the ceramic producers supplying it.

India-ETC comes into being as an increasing number of industries bolt on to Gujarat ’s core competencies, benefitting too from its improved infrastructure, 11 airports and over 40 ports.  What ceramics have to offer in the technical, engineering and electrical arenas becomes increasingly important in this context.

Gujarat will see extra spurts of growth in this sector, perhaps even outstripping more traditional ceramics.  We look forward to our largest ever presentation in this area and a broadening of boundaries.

Have a good look at who has already grabbed the chance, our inaugural plan at The Karnavati and what the exhibiting options are both for machinery displays and also standard shell schemes.
