THE VENUE

We canvassed our Exhibitors and Visitors at the last show, as we always do, and they said ‘Go to Gujarat ’ so that’s what we’ve done.

Indian Ceramics 2009, the 4th Ceramic Materials,Supplies, Plant & Technology Show, will take place from 3-5 March 2009 (Tuesday to Thursday) at The Karnavati Club. The Karnavati Club is a well known and respected centre, much used by the Gujarati business community.

Established in 1989, it is located on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway and now covers a total area of around 46,500 square metres. A broad range of modern facilities are offered throughout the club and office bearers are drawn from established professionals across Ahmedabad, voted in a recent SundayET poll of Indian CEOs as one of the top five futuristic cities in the country.

Gujarat – The State of Ceramics
Exhibiting in Ahmedabad, you will be right on the doorstep of the most important Ceramic Manufacturing Cluster in South Asia . Overall, Gujarat accounts for over 70% of India ’s ceramic production and the Morbi/Thangadh centres alone are responsible for the manufacture of nearly 60% of the country’s ceramic wall and floor tile and sanitaryware.

The city of Ahmedabad itself – the most important industrial, commercial and educational centre in the state – is a significant location for insulating ceramics technology, while high levels of extruded and pressed clay production across several state regions, with an estimated 5,000 kilns firing product, also make Gujarat the pre-eminent brick and roof tile supplier.

Growth in these sectors in India is running at around 15% per annum – twice the typical rate in global ceramics. Plus, with the modernisation programme for smaller units which has been initiated, overseen by the renowned CGCRI Naroda Centre, quality is steadily being enhanced and exports from SMEs have already been boosted by an amazing 50%–60% in just the last two or three years.

It is estimated that the top 750 ceramic manufacturers in Gujarat have invested around US$550 million in new production technology and factory buildings so far.

It’s still a hotspot and there’s more to come. We want you to be a part of it and have worked hard to put together attractive and yet practical packages.

The venue that we have chosen for 2009 offers the flexibility of various types of presentations, economically structured for all the many types of ceramic supply businesses and, we believe, is in keeping with the deep-rooted traditions of the local industry.
