The dates for Indian Ceramics 2014 have now been decided. February 26 to 28, 2014 is when this show will be taking place for the ninth time, in Ahmedabad at the University Exhibition Center. Like CERAMITEC, the next edition of which takes place in 2015 in Munich, Indian Ceramics covers the entire spectrum of the industry, from classic ceramics to raw materials and technical ceramics. That makes it the leading suppliers show for the ceramics industry in India. In 2014 over 170 exhibitors and more
than 5,000 visitors are expected to attend.

Already more than half the exhibitors who took part in the event in 2013 have registered to take part in  Indian Ceramics 2014; and well over 50% of the space available for 2014 is already booked.

The 2013 edition of Indian Ceramics attracted 164 exhibitors, together putting on a display of their products, services and innovations on around 3,600 square meters of exhibition space. 108 of those exhibitors were international companies or the Indian subsidiaries of companies headquartered outside India. They took up around 2,400 square meters of net exhibition space. With over 5,000 visitors from approximately 30 countries Indian Ceramics is the industry´s leading trade fair for the Indian
subcontinent. That also means it is the perfect platform for international players in India.

Within the framework of Indian Ceramics 2013, Messe München GmbH acquired the rights for the Indian Ceramics trade show, now a successfully established brand on the Indian market. In 2014 Indian Ceramics will be held for the first time under the management of Messe München´s subsidiary, MMI India. Gerhard Gerritzen, Managing Director of Messe München GmbH, underlined the importance of Indian Ceramics: “Indian Ceramics is now an established event in the Indian market and also a key tool for us in supporting our customers in an up-and-coming foreign market. Also it is an important vehicle for promoting our trade show CERAMITEC within the sector in India.”

MMI-India to take over Indian Ceramics exhibition

Indian Ceramics, the leading exhibition for technology and materials for the ceramic industries of the entire sub-continent and surrounding region, will be taken over and operated by new owners Messe Muenchen India (MMI-India) with effect of the 2014 edition of the exhibition.

The exhibition, which began in Morbi back in 2006, has had eight successful outings, having been located in Mumbai in 2007 and 2008, before returning to Gujarat and Ahmedabad in particular from 2009, where it has set up home ever since.

“In terms of the future growth of the event, we are delighted that MMI has finalised a deal with us to take over the event” says Andy Skillen, Managing Director of Bowhead Media Ltd, who through one of their subsidiaries, have run the exhibition until now.

“MMI, a subsidiary of Messe Muenchen GmbH, one of the biggest trade companies of the world, has a long heritage in producing top quality exhibitions on a massive scale, and it was our belief that they alone would be the company capable of taking Indian Ceramics to the next level. Their resources, global reach and commitment to developing an even better exhibition for visitors and exhibitors persuaded us that they would be the right company to take control of the exhibition, and continue developing the entire experience. We are pleased that the future of Indian Ceramics will now be in safe, capable hands and we look forward to watching it continue to grow and prosper in the years ahead” he concludes.

Speaking on behalf of MMI-India, Darryl Dasilva – CEO said “We are very happy to takeover this very promising exhibition in one of India’s sunrise industry. Looking at the explosive growth in the real estate and infrastructure sector and the need for more and more sophisticated end products, the potential for the growth of this show is enormous”

With over 5,000 visitors, and an exhibition space area that has grown every year, Indian Ceramics has established itself in the last eight years as one of the global ceramic industry’s leading exhibitions. It is the second largest annual event anywhere, and the largest that has ever been held in India. With MMI at the helm, it is widely anticipated that the phenomenal growth and expansion that the event has seen will be accelerated even further. Mr. Dasilva added “This coupled with MMG’s long running “Ceramitec” will enable us to position this show on a global platform and attract more and more exhibitors from around the world”.
