MMI-India to take over Indian Ceramics exhibition

MMI-India to take over Indian Ceramics exhibition

Indian Ceramics, the leading exhibition for technology and materials for the ceramic industries of the entire sub-continent and surrounding region, will be taken over and operated by new owners Messe Muenchen India (MMI-India) with effect of the 2014 edition of the exhibition.

The exhibition, which began in Morbi back in 2006, has had eight successful outings, having been located in Mumbai in 2007 and 2008, before returning to Gujarat and Ahmedabad in particular from 2009, where it has set up home ever since.

“In terms of the future growth of the event, we are delighted that MMI has finalised a deal with us to take over the event” says Andy Skillen, Managing Director of Bowhead Media Ltd, who through one of their subsidiaries, have run the exhibition until now.

“MMI, a subsidiary of Messe Muenchen GmbH, one of the biggest trade companies of the world, has a long heritage in producing top quality exhibitions on a massive scale, and it was our belief that they alone would be the company capable of taking Indian Ceramics to the next level. Their resources, global reach and commitment to developing an even better exhibition for visitors and exhibitors persuaded us that they would be the right company to take control of the exhibition, and continue developing the entire experience. We are pleased that the future of Indian Ceramics will now be in safe, capable hands and we look forward to watching it continue to grow and prosper in the years ahead” he concludes.

Speaking on behalf of MMI-India, Darryl Dasilva – CEO said “We are very happy to takeover this very promising exhibition in one of India’s sunrise industry. Looking at the explosive growth in the real estate and infrastructure sector and the need for more and more sophisticated end products, the potential for the growth of this show is enormous”

With over 5,000 visitors, and an exhibition space area that has grown every year, Indian Ceramics has established itself in the last eight years as one of the global ceramic industry’s leading exhibitions. It is the second largest annual event anywhere, and the largest that has ever been held in India. With MMI at the helm, it is widely anticipated that the phenomenal growth and expansion that the event has seen will be accelerated even further. Mr. Dasilva added “This coupled with MMG’s long running “Ceramitec” will enable us to position this show on a global platform and attract more and more exhibitors from around the world”.
